JULIA BURNIER

Julia Burnier is a Brazilian actress and theatre director based in NYC.
With over 10 years of professional experience, Julia has worked consistently in theatre and on-screen, in both classical and contemporary/experimental projects. She co-founded the Brazilian theatre group Teatro da Peste, focused on new forms of storytelling through immersive theatre, serving as artistic director for over six years. She was also a member of the theatre group [Ph2]: estado de teatro, acting in its adaptations of the 'Oresteia', 'The Cherry Orchard' and 'War of the Worlds'.
Key film credits include 'The Young Baumanns' (Filmadrid, FICCI), 'Blood Drive' (Soho Film Festival) and 'Terra Natal' (by Lucas Manuel-Sheibe). Recently, Julia made her theatre debut in New York as lead in the play 'Saudades' at JACK and in 'A Seagull in the Hamptons', directed by Tom Rowan. She is also the lead of the feature film 'Awake', directed by Peter Azen, now in post-production.
She is the creator and voice over actor of the social media project ‘A Vida de Tina’ (Arcanjo – Best Social Media Project Award). She has also done voice-over work in commercials for TokStok, Embraer, L'Óreal, Pagseguro, Bombay Sapphire, Voepass Airlines, Hospital Einstein, among others.
Julia holds a BFA degree in Drama from University of São Paulo and recently graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, in NYC.
